Townspeople recognizes the urgent need to tackle this crisis head-on. With compassion and determination, we provide solutions that relieve those affected by the housing shortage. Our mission is to create affordable housing opportunities that empower individuals and families to regain stability and thrive.

34th Street Apartments

Opened in January 2011, this apartment complex features 34 thoughtfully designed units, offering a range of options to meet your unique needs.

    Key features include:
  • Abundant Living Space. Discover comfort and privacy in our 34-unit apartment complex. Choose from 20 spacious one-bedroom/one-bath units or 14 well-appointed two-bedroom/two-bath units.
  • Permanent Supportive Housing. Within the 34th Street Project, 18 units are dedicated to permanent supportive housing, providing a secure and stable home and access to comprehensive case management services.
  • Enhanced Community Living. Community plays a vital role in your housing experience. Our project features amenities that foster connection and create a sense of belonging. Enjoy a gated entry, a welcoming courtyard, and convenient onsite parking spaces. You’ll also appreciate the peace of mind provided by our security system.
  • Sustainable Living. As part of our commitment to reducing environmental impact and minimizing costs for our clients, the 34th Street Project incorporates solar panels to lower electricity expenses. Embrace sustainable living while benefiting from lower utility bills, allowing you to allocate resources towards other essential aspects of your life.

51st Street Apartments

Proudly opened in October of 2007, this apartment complex was thoughtfully rehabilitated to cater specifically to households experiencing homelessness who are living with disabilities and have very-low-income.

     Key features include:
  • Thoughtfully Designed Units. Discover comfort and privacy in each of our 24 studio units within the complex. Every unit includes a bedroom, a private bathroom, and a well-equipped kitchen.
  • Shared Amenities. Enjoy the gazebo area, providing an opportunity for social gatherings and a chance to connect with your neighbors. Take advantage of the beautifully landscaped yard, offering a tranquil space for relaxation and reflection.
  • Safety and Security. Your well-being is our utmost priority. The complex is protected by a 24-hour gated security system, ensuring a safe and secure environment for all residents. Additionally, an onsite manager can address any concerns and help whenever needed.

Vista del Puente

In collaboration with National Community Renaissance (National CORE), Vista del Puente opened in November 2018. The property helps address the pressing need for affordable housing in the vibrant Southcrest community of San Diego.

     Key features include:
  • Well Appointed Units. We offer six spacious one-bedroom units featuring 500 square feet of living space and a full kitchen and bathroom. For those seeking more space, we have 30 two-bedroom units spanning 750 square feet and a full kitchen and bathroom. Additionally, we have sixteen three-bedroom units, offering a generous 1,100 square feet of living area, complete with a full kitchen and two full bathrooms.
  • Amenities that Enhance Your Lifestyle. We go above and beyond to ensure your living experience is exceptional at Vista del Puente. Take advantage of our community’s fantastic amenities, including a play area for children to enjoy, a community meeting room, and an onsite office to address your needs. The fully equipped kitchen is perfect for resident gatherings and social events. At the same time, the pantry, laundry room, and maintenance room make everyday life more convenient. Our community room and management office provide a space for onsite services, including tenant meetings, after-school activities, and financial literacy classes. We believe that onsite services are essential in fostering resident stability and success.

Wilson Avenue Apartments

In December of 1995, Townspeople developed San Diego’s first rehabilitated apartment complex for low-income persons living with HIV/AIDS. We were proud to have established our Wilson Avenue Apartments, which consist of 8 one-bedroom units. This project represented some of the first permanent supportive housing (PSH) units in the City of San Diego.

     Key features include:
  • Vintage Charm. In a classic San Diego bungalow community, Wilson Avenue Apartments offers 8 units each with a living room, bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen with appliances.
  • Shared Facilities for All to Enjoy. The apartments also provide access to on-site laundry facilities and a patio area with a colorful wall mural painted by one of our residents.
  • Central Location. Situated in the vibrant City Heights neighborhood, Wilson Avenue Apartments boast walkability, with nearby shops, restaurants, and a large park for outdoor activities.
